About The Materials We Use

Stainless steel is a generic term for a family of low carbon alloy steels containing 10.5% or more chromium. The corrosion resistance and other useful properties of steel are enhanced by increased chromium content and the addition of other elements such as molybdenum, nickel and nitrogen. Our German composition of 18/8 austenitic stainless steel, (18% Chromium, 8% Nickel) is used in a significantly thicker gauge than typical applications of its kind.

In addition, it has a self-healing property because of its specific chemical composition. A layer on the surface, only a few atoms thick, naturally forms and, with the assistance of oxygen from air or water, rebuilds itself when scratched. This is the reason why stainless steel does not require any coating or other corrosion protection to remain bright and shiny even after decades of use. It is also 100% RECYCLABLE.

The bio-ethanol which is poured in a reservoir below a grill, is similar in composition to the alcohol used in Bunsen Burners, is very clean when burned as it turns into heat and a water vapor. It does not leave a film on your walls or windows and no chimney is required. We do recommend that the room have proper ventilation as this process uses some oxygen out of the air.

Your fireplace package comes complete with a burner reservoir, grill, controller tool, funnel, and measuring jug. A detailed instruction manual and safety instructions are also included.
